Meg has a lot to be mad about, and she is. This anger, though, seems less reactionary than existential; under Avaâs governance, the context of Megâs rage is reframed. Unable to perform social pleasantness, Meg becomes the angry, unsatisfied Black girl hero who eventually learns to command space, time, and her own destiny.
