At last night's VMAs, though, Miley took the opportunity to laugh at herself and to promise her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, that she would "be good" this year. Miley was nominated and performing at the event, but before she hit the stage, she tweeted a hilarious picture of herself onstage in 2013 with Billy Ray's face superimposed on it, effectively meme'ing herself. "Don't worry Dad," she wrote.Twitter contentView on Twitter drake jordan 4 A deep reverence for the neighborhoods she was raised in permeates nearly every frame of the show, to the point where the Dunes, the Inglewood apartment complex where her character lived during the showâs first two seasons, became a tourist attraction. South L.A. has always been somewhat of an unofficial main character of the series, and I canât help but ask her how the area will factor into the new season, what with the neighborhood still mourning hometown hero Nipsey and experiencing aggressive gentrification in areas that were once densely packed with Black folks. Those anxieties will play out onscreen through her characterâs motivation this season. drake jordan 4 I remember this one day. I came home, and I think it was in third grade, and I said, "Some boy touched my hair today and he said that it was weird." My mom told me that the next time somebody touched my hair that I'd have to go to the principal's office. If she hadn't told me that, I wouldn't have done that. That really was the point at which I started to stand up for myself. It still happened, and I'll explain to people why it's wrong, even though it's not my place to explain to them because it shouldn't... that should have been a given that they knew that you don't touch other people's hair, because it's dehumanizing. But it's... that's the best thing that I've learned so far. Standing up for myself and not having my voice get lost in all the sound.LPW: drake jordan 4 and Lena Waithe are doing the work, so it grates her whensheâs drake jordan 4
