At the time I auditioned I was 21, so it wasn’t decades ago that I was in high school. I was a model with long hair, and I was like, “Whoa, this is too refined for high school.” So cutting my hair into a mushroom cut—styled a little bit weird like a high school haircut—really conveyed Kat’s confidence.
