Scout Schultz, a 21-year-old engineering student, was shot and killed by campus police, who said Schultz was reportedly holding a knife at the time of the shooting. After receiving a 911 call saying that someone was carrying a gun (which turned out to reportedly be a knife), Georgia Tech police arrived to a campus parking lot at 11:17 p.m. on Saturday, NBC News reported. In a video of the incident, it appears that Schultz was yelling, "Shoot me," though police can be heard telling Schultz, "Nobody wants to hurt you." When Schultz moved forward with the knife, they were shot.
