I think weâre a lot kinder to our friends and acquaintances than we are to ourselves, because we have a more general perspective on them. When it comes to ourselves though, we tend to fixate on possible flaws. Watching the movie made me realize that yes, there are things I do that I shouldnât, but it doesnât make me a bad person. (At least, I hope it doesnât!) Itâs more important to work on growing than to obsess over shortcomings.Delia: guess vaqueros It may help them understand what they're going through as New York City teens is not necessarily normal, but that other people are [also] going through it and everyone has their own individual problems and struggles. Nowadays, you see [people] on Facebook or Instagram and think they have a perfect life, without ... pausing to get to know the person. Also, as the only black girl in the film, I think it was important for me to participate so that there was some representation for the kids of color who are growing up in mostly white environments and feel as if they're alienated or lesser than because they have different responsibilities.
