Things are complicated and are not just rooted in her body. Sometimes, when someone who's different starts making mistakes, it's even more zoomed-in on because people aren't comfortable with that. They just want that person to be the funny girl who's sweet, kind, or quiet. I like that it gives a very different story to figuring out your sexuality while being insecure and dealing with the distress and lack of respect she gets from people around her.
