As a field director, I train people to have effective canvassing conversations which bring out their own voice and their own stake in this election — and help them find the best ways to be effective in our community. I write sample scripts to model our ideal way of engaging our neighbors in longer, more meaningful conversations at the door. In training, our volunteers practice and personalize these conversations, learn more about why this kind of “deep canvassing” is effective, and are also taught about specific procedures (like how to collect ballot access petition signatures).
