Zafira first appeared on the page for a subconscious reason that, until recently, I didn’t fully understand. When I started off as a blogger, in 2010, I built a following with my real name and my blog’s logo, rather than a photo of myself. It was fine at first, but as the days became months and eventually years, I became increasingly aware that no one knew what I looked like. My moment of truth came when BookExpo America invited me to teach a panel on design and requested a headshot.
