Violence toward women is a damaging, lazy trope. It especially sends the wrong message in children’s entertainment. Girls repeatedly see their gender oppressed, and boys see males as being the aggressors, frequently without any negative consequences. Since audiences likely start watching Disney movies from a young age, any negative portrayals could end up normalizing the victimization of women and, even unwittingly, reinforcing that they are "less than."
