Kerby chose to hold the show at the Weeksville Heritage Center, in the Weeksville section of Brooklyn. The historic neighborhood is named after James Weeks, an African-American man, who in 1838 a decade after slavery was abolished in New York, established this small free-black community. The location was once again transformed to its origins when a gospel choir appeared to provide the show's soundtrack.
