As I walked home from my haircut, I thought about his death and the fact that I now had five friends who died because of gun violence. I continued running to my house and started banging on the door as I watched blood rushing down my calf onto my Air Force Ones. “I think I just got shot,” I told my shocked family. Luckily, they knew what to do. My dad put my leg up, my sister put pressure on the wound, and called 911. Why me? I thought. Why is this happening to me? I’m a good person. I’m not involved with any of this.
