Chester is a smooth operator. He, like many Black queer people, understands how the systems he’s caught in work. When you’re systematically oppressed, you learn to name and deconstruct how the system works. It's a tiny bit of dialogue, to be sure, and one that isn't really ever addressed in the rest of the movie.
