You’ve likely seen the term before, especially if you spend much time on social media, or are interested in saving the environment, climate change, or Indigenous cultures. This term was even featured in the introduction of episode three of the breakthrough Hulu and FX seriesReservation Dogs velo tuning A true cultural reset. (Don't act like you don't remember what you were doing the exact moment the video for "Thank U, Next" dropped.) Most pop stars hide their feelings behind vague lyrics and thinly-veiled references to their exes, but Grande showed the receipts — and real grace — on this playful, poignant single. In the wake of her ex Mac Miller’s death and her very public breakup with Pete Davidson, Ari dropped the most confessional track of her career, and in doing so she rewrote her own narrative, turning heartbreak into personal growth. And velo tuning was created in 2013 by screenwriter Adam Goldberg, who loosely based the series on his own childhood while growing up in the 1980s. It stars Wendi McLendon-Covey ofBridesmaidsandAmerican Dad! velo tuning I think that definitely connects back to me hearing Hendrix for the first time because I had that experience of hearing that music for the first time and it really touching something deep inside me, and then when I started to talk, to other people who were into music, about it I kind of quickly understood that what it touched if me was different than what it touched in them. And what was getting touched in me was that something about the way that that music unfolded and told its story, made me feel very at peace with myself. When I was in the sort-of world that that music created, I felt ok about who I was and who I was made sense. And I think that if I was to analyze that, I think that to some degree that Jimi Hendrix's music has a very high degree of abstraction because of its use of really complex timbral compositional devices, and you know a number of other things. So that in that plain of abstraction that that music created I was able to experience fluidity around gender that was more consistent with what my experience was. I definitely think that that's a big part of the music that I’ve created is to try to use sound as a way of creating a landscape. And so making music I think, for me was a way to stay in that landscape. So when I started to take music more seriously what became meaningful for me was to create that for other people… a sonic landscape in which whatever was going on for somebody could be given space and room and a place to unpack itself, and be itself.TV velo tuning
