Throughout my career I have also experienced instances of purposeful misgendering meant to hurt or embarrass me. Recently, I was working a fashion event that featured a red carpet. A male photographer who is also often at these events was there too, and we were positioned next to one another as we were capturing the celebrities entering the event.
