The crazy thing about it though is I don't remember anything. I was about to turn 16 and my parents got me this car. I woke up and I was like, "What happened to my car?" They were like, "No. No. Your car's fine." They were like, "You jumped in front of a car." That was when I was 15 and I left a voicemail on my friend's phone. I was, like, crying. Like, crying in the bushes. I was like, "I have no friends. No one likes me." It was the angstiest time of my life. My parents had put me on antidepressants...But, yeah, I still have a metal rod in my leg. When the seasons change or when I walk upstairs I still feel it and I'm reminded of it. That's also a positive thing because I would never imagine that I'd be living in New York and doing music full-time. It's almost like if things were reversed and I wasn't here, it's like, why not do everything you can now? Because the alternative is just doing nothing.TV: lunette pour la vue To access the United States Capitol switchboard and connect directly with the Senate office you request, call (202) 224-3121.Want more fromTeen Vogue? I just want my songs to actually make someone feel the way I felt in that moment writing it. That's extremely difficult and people are going to interpret things. Some songs should be personal to you and how you interpret them, but for me it's always like I want someone to feel like they're in my shoes when listening to it. lunette pour la vue
