The only light that she had was Jason, the only love that she ever felt was Jason. Her parents never really showed her love, they didn’t really care about her, she turned to Jason for everything. The loss of him hurt her so badly, he was her person.” Oh my God! And yet you have the most beautiful sounding voice and you play the piano. But your parents are in music, so you were like, I’m moving away from music.KH: My dad is a musician. So, my dad is a classically trained saxophonist. My dad's a musician, my mom's a jazz vocalist, and that made me not like it.TER: Born in Ghana and raised in London, Nicole realized early on that she had a knack for assembling IKEA furniture and nailing her woodshop class in school; that talent sparked her dream of becoming a spatial designer, which she took to Nottingham Trent University to study product design. However, as most of us have had to learn, many professions — including in the design industry — are less than welcoming to Black women. But like many Black women who have come before her, Nicole not only found a way to break into the industry but also ensure that many women are able to walk in after her.
