Two years ago, Bridget Anderson was 22 years old and working in the natural hair-care industry. She was dating Anthony Hill, an Air Force veteran who had served in Afghanistan. But everything changed when Anthony, while experiencing a bipolar episode, wasshot and killed by a police officer documented. She’s an ardent feminist, as she wrote forLenny Letter "Voices In My Head" is about insecurities, but it's also about having people who love and support you through them. "There’s a song called 'Vibrations' because a lot of what I was dealing with was I had this vibrational feeling in my neck that was part of the anxiety, this inner shaking sometimes," she says. "Instead of writing about a vibration in my neck and that’s what the song is about, it’s about vibing out, like we don’t need to go out, we can just vibe, Netflix and chill kind of thing." A song called "Insomnia" is about sleepless nights caused by the absence of a romantic partner, not by anxiety. Anthony’s family was notified and arrangements were made for his funeral. He was buried in his hometown of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
