It was a few years ago. I was dating someone who was a successful musician. I was really stuck creatively, and this person was not very encouraging to me and was kind of like an egomaniac. I left this person many years ago, and realized just how emotionally abusive he was to me and how much he really kept me back from pursuing my own voice. It's just really amazing to release a song like that and feel like I've had my own artistic success at this point, that's going to conquer his someday.
