mom and what that means for Maeve. And I think⦠it must bring up a lot of old trauma, and the idea of cycles and giving to the next generation a better life, and all of these quite huge topics that I think are very important. That aspect of Maeve's life is really key to understanding why she is the way she is. We see everyone's home life a bit more this season, which I always really liked. Because yes, it is about school, and yes, it is about sex and the shame around sex and shame around being at that age. But also it's about, how does your other life, your home life, inform who you are at school?TVThere aremany new characters in this season It is more important now more than ever for trans and gender nonconforming people to be the architects of our own narratives. While trans visibility is at an all-time high, with trans people increasingly represented in popular culture, violence against us has also never been higher. The push for visibility without it being tied to a demand for our basic needs being met often leaves us without material resources or tangible support, and exposed to more violence and isolation. Every day a new piece comes out about transness that is written and published by cisgender folk with industry resources. Every day our stories and our images are misused, sanitized, and extracted from for the gain of others. This is why it is crucial that we uplift and support the work of trans people to tell our own stories – on the screen, on the page, and on the streets. It's interesting that you picked up on that. I had sort of forgotten that. But you're right, there is a complete element of manipulation. Hope totally is playing on that thing, because it's sort of Maeve's weak spot, isn't it? She's obviously so determined and so ambitious and wants things for herself, but I think isn't able to fully express them. Ms. Sands has helped her and has elevated Maeve and given her confidence, [but now] Maeve is in a vulnerable-ish place now, where she understands that she needs to work even harder to get what she wants. And so, like you say, Hope picks up on that and tries to single her out and say, "If you want to be someone⦠I used to be like you." She uses all these formulations that are quite, like you say, manipulative and reverse psychology sometimes, but not in a healthy way. for definitions of these other key terms. Social distancing means physical distancing. We can keep our social connections strong, but the practice involves avoiding places where large gatherings are taking place (such as schools and movie theaters) and maintaining six feet of distance when possible. Quarantine steps it up a notch by setting a period of time for separating and restricting the movement of people who have been exposed to the contagious disease in order to stop them from potentially spreading it. This can be mandated by authorities or voluntarily self-imposed. ÂHow can public health help us stay informed?
