Despite the success of Hamer and so many other organizers, in the past decade, we have seen a targeted rollback of the very rights that Freedom Summer volunteers fought for. We’ve created online communities of like-minded advocates, and together we’re engaging and educating our fellow young people about hunger. But it doesn’t stop at just conversation.
