You’ve also said the campaign was sustained by small-dollar donations, but I’m sure your endorsements, from Natalie Portman to Senator Bernie Sanders, certainly helped too. What do you credit your win to?NR: We live in a blue city and in a blue state, and in many ways, everyone speaks the same language and everyone cares about the same issues. The difference between candidates is the focus and the urgency that you bring to [changing] these issues. I think the urgency that I brought to the table on the campaign was attractive to young people who also share that focus and urgency on things like the climate crisis.
