Mimi was an early storyteller. She recounts writing songs in her diary at the age of 13 about school day melodramas. "Being at school, there's always so much going on. You've got your crush, you've got the mean girls," Webb says. Beyond that, she used songwriting to channel her emotions, a talent that gives her songs their heartbreaking depth today.
