This is how immigrants do it. They work all day and night and barely sleep. My father would come home for dinner, then carefully allot each of us a few minutes' one-on-one time with him. Then he would head back to the hospital to perform more surgeries or just sit at the bedside of his patients, answering questions about their operations or just listening, no matter how long it took. Because he worked so hard — for us — we grew up largely fatherless.
