St. Louis is the birthplace of the modern Black Lives Matter movement, which started back in 2014 with…Mike Brown. Everybody has their parts to play in this movement. Some are placed in the front of the protest line and some are placed behind a desk to help find resources and make connections. Everybody’s not meant to be out front. In the months after the protest, I got really close to a lot of the frontline protesters and started to figure out what their needs were.
