I graduated from the University of Virginia in May, having spent a majority of my time on campus working with our Black Student Alliance. When it was announced months in advance that the white nationalist “Unite the Right” rally would be taking place in Charlottesville, I knew I would be making the drive from Maryland to Virginia to be a part of the resistance.
