interview that Drake's gesture was too much for her, saying, “The VMAs is such a fan-focused awards show, so having that energy around me, and knowing the people who had received the award in the past, made it feel like a big deal. Waiting through that speech was probably the most uncomfortable part. I don’t like too many compliments; I don’t like to be put on blast.” isqueez foot massager On a personal note, it’s important not to get discouraged. After the Women’s March this year, I remember common rhetoric floating around that young people should “stop protesting and do [blank] instead”. That generally being, “get a job” or “concentrate on school”. The perception that anyone is too young to be concerned with serious issues like climate change, police brutality, and the refugee crisis is simply untrue. isqueez foot massager Mimi now lives in London, citing the city as inspiration in her music as well. "Sometimes the weather is not the best, but I love writing here. I love the songwriting vibes that are in London." When she's not working, Mimi loves to spend time with friends. "I'll walk to my friends when I'm at home in the countryside. Yeah, just anything social. I'm there!" isqueez foot massager It was a different experience, but I had a lot of fun. I had my brother play drums on the album; he's so creative. It's kind of like I had a band but they came in one at a time, whether it was the bass player or the keyboard player. It was cool to watch these guys that I hired just do their thing and I would tell them, "well, I'm kind of wanting this sound or part right here," as opposed to me playing it. I couldn't play drums but I could probably play most everything else, and I decided I wanted an actual bass player and keyboard player just for a different feel. I didn't want it to be a one-man band. The bass player is going to play something completely different than I would, and that might give it more dynamic. But it was a great, fun process working with my producer, Jacquire Kings. It was definitely a growing process but the outcome was well worth it and I'm very happy with the finished product.Photo: Courtesy of David O'DonohueTV:Do you have a favorite song on the album?JF: isqueez foot massager
