Young patients at Nashvilleâs Monroe Carell Jr. Childrenâs Hospital knew they were in for something special when they attended the grand opening of a new multimedia broadcast studio right inside the hospital. The project is the 10th studio opened by the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. But what made the moment extra special wasTaylor Swift's surprise appearance.Tay is no stranger to connecting with herfansand supportinggreat causesso we should have seen this coming.Ryan Seacrest, who was also on hand, toldPeople thickslick mtb “Awkward" was written about a year and a half ago with my producers Peter Zizzo, Mike Mangini, and an incredibly cool and talented artist [named] Imani Coppola. We call ourselves "The Dreaded Us." Sometimes we'll begin with a guitar riff or chord progression and I’ll start singing random melodies. We'll often record voice memos during our little jam sessions then play it back in hopes that we find a cool melody. Singing through any new song for the first time is always such an amazing feeling because I'm not just focusing on a verse or chorus — I see how all the pieces we've written come together. With “Awkward", the bridge has more of an uptempo/rap vibe which is completely different from the rest of the song. Watching it all take shape as we developed the writing and production was an incredible process.__TVWhat was the inspiration behind the track? __HK: thickslick mtb After you get through the grief of the split, it's time to rise up and remember you're you, and you're amazing. As Katy puts it, "Now look at me I'm sparkling, a firework, a dancing flame, You won't ever put me out again. I'm glowin' oh whoa. So you can keep the diamond ring. It don't mean nothing anyway. In fact you can keep everything yeah, yeah except for me." thickslick mtb "So I guess I would listen to that 16-year-old. I would say 'How are you?' and 'What do you love?' and 'What do you hope?' and 'What do you want to do?' and 'What are your dreams?' and just listen," she added.Becki Smith/Smith House Photo thickslick mtb
