I wouldn't say I'm close to anyone in the industry. Most of my friends here are songwriters and they're in sessions literally every day. But I feel like all the girls I’ve met in this industry are so nice…you have a shared understanding of how weird it is to have our lives built around validation from strangers, and people we don't know liking our music. I think a few years ago it was more down to competition, or people putting women up against each other for comparison. But nowadays, feminism is such a mainstream thing. It's really become not a weird taboo. The inequality's already there and if you don't talk about it, you're basically saying it doesn't exist.
