âItâs always going to be part of the story,â she says of the Black neighborhoods she films in. âI call [the show] a time capsule of South L.A. because from season one to season four, itâs different. You see it, and itâs tragic, but itâs also going to serve as a nostalgic piece, which Iâm proud of.â 35mm mudguards and other shows, people are looking for an escape and they get to go into this world where a pandemic doesnât exist and laugh and be immersed in somebody elseâs stuff,â she says by phone while sheltering at her home, weeks after our sit-down interview. âThereâs a huge opportunity for art to get noticed, and shared, in a new way because we have all this time ⦠and I love that people are anticipating [our return], but itâsnot 35mm mudguards “I honestly don’t even know where [a sequel] would go, because we already got our happy endings,” she said. “We’d have to create more conflict, or maybe there would be a third twin. Spruce things up a little bit. I have no idea. I’m going to leave that one up to the writers, but I know that I had so much fun doing it.
