Another action we did was a demonstration at a major place in Santa Monica of what random searches look like. We purposely picked an area where we knew there would be people who might not know exactly what random searches are â those from middle-class backgrounds, who attend schools that are fully funded with resources â and raised awareness among those who stopped and watched our demonstration. We also recently went to the home of our superintendent, Austin Beutner, and that of our board president, Monica Garcia, to protest, standing up in defense of our public schools and taking a stand against privatization. stumpjumper s3 I had to unlearn all of these different posture things that I had picked up from years of tennis. It was really challenging, but choreography was one of my favorite parts because Celia is just so much fun to be around, her and Jason [Kittelberger] and Ida [Saki]. I feel like I spent most of my time with the dancers because I wanted to observe them and I didn't want to be disrespectful to the dance community. This artform is hundreds of years old, and they dedicate their lives to it. Half the time I felt like such an imposter, like, "Who am I to step into these pointe shoes?''
