“It’s a very sad day. Karl Lagerfeld’s death represents the end of a certain era of fashion, a certain style of designer. Will we have a designer complete a decade at the helm of a house, let alone 5, 6 or 7 decades? Will there ever be that same cult of personality, that same unrelenting commitment and energy, that strictness of aesthetic across all areas of a house? And also, that same appetite for learning? That same joy in new references, new inspirations? But maybe it’s wrong to relate Lagerfeld to an era of fashion or a past type of designer, as in the end, he was totally unique. He was made for the task. The master. Undoubtedly.” mongoose 20 inch bike target playwright and performer Heidi Schreck recalls her own teenage years debating the founding document for prize money that enabled her to pay her way through college. Heidi attempts to reconcile her faith in the Constitution at age 15 with all the ways in which it’s failed generations of women in her family. Ultimately, her play exposes the consequences of a government supposedly conceived by and for “we the people” at a time when that didn’t include women, slaves, Indigenous communities, and other non-Anglo Saxon people. mongoose 20 inch bike target This isn't the first year Christian used graphic tees to send a very important political message. You will all laugh when you realize that every single one of you felt the same way. There is a lesson there for you: Take risks, and don’t be afraid to get caught trying. Do your best to embrace the excitement that comes with not knowing what’s next, and remember that confidence and an open mind will always serve you better than insecurity and doubt. And the next time someone raises her hand in class and says something really smart, go up to her afterward and introduce yourself. You’ll be glad you did. At Wellesley and throughout your life, you’ll find yourself in plenty of rooms where you’re sure everyone is smarter than you are—and sometimes they will be. But one of the best things in life is getting to know intelligent, inspiring people who have something to say. Learn from them. Ask their advice. Support them, and let them support you. After all, you’re plenty smart, too. Remember how Mrs. King in sixth grade used to tell you not to hide your light under a bushel basket? She was right. mongoose 20 inch bike target
