The last decade was a decade of youth activism, but the next one is going to be about youth change-making reign 29 1 that students have for the university, including a 10% reduction in the cost of attendance, a 10% increase in student’s financial aid, and the providing of education, employment, and affordable housing to the larger West Harlem community, where the school is located. Columbia’s YDSA reign 29 1 have also organized for tuition reductions or partial reimbursements from their university. At other schools, such asHoward Universityand theUniversity of Maryland reign 29 1 have also been giving protestors food and water. Protestors have not only been actively participating in marches and demonstrations but as I’ve seen on Instagram Live, in community clean-ups and offering spaces for religious services. The beauty of this movement is that it is grounded in community. There is not just one leader. Everyone is a leader, giving what they can in this fight for justice. reign 29 1
