"Being independent is really important to me. I travel by myself—I do a lot of things on my own. I’m very happy with my own company. I’ve lived in New York, Paris, the Netherlands, and China. During those times I worked through a lot of personal stuff. I like to be anonymous. Performing is my chance to connect with my audience. I enter this trance like state of euphoria. After I perform I come down off the high pretty badly. It’s quite bizarre how hard it hits me, but I think it’s a common feeling for a lot of musicians. My voice just does things that I had no idea it could do when I’m performing. I really come alive in front of an audience. When you see me live, that’s who I am. I’m very particular with my music, down to every note, every little sound you hear, even the air between the noise. I’m particular all across the board, from the way I dress—I always wear black and my outfits are very similar—to everything I put out there on social media; it’s all completely myself and who I want to be portrayed as. I have complete creative and artistic control over everything that I do which is really great. I don’t think it’s that common in this industry and I think that’s quite special. I find it difficult to differentiate who I am as an artist and who I am as a person. I don’t have an alter ego or anything. It’s me -- all of it. So I suppose it would be describing myself."WHAT MAKES YOU WORTH LISTENING TO: verge cycling filled takeover a few days ago with her own rendition of a Kendall-Kris moment from a few seasons back.ContentView Iframe URL verge cycling But the white tears still flow. Rudy Giuliani, former mayor of New York City and godfather of the inherently racist Stop and Frisk act, said that Beyoncéâs Super Bowl halftime performance was âan attack on police officers.â He then, in a remarkable show of lacking self-awareness or ability to read the room, described police as âthe people who protect her and protect us and keep us alive.â Rudy doesnât realize that in America, many black people donât consider themselves part of that âus.â And in the face of numbers proving the statistically disproportionate way in which police kill black Americans, his comments sound tone deaf.Instagram contentView on Instagram verge cycling Next door — so close! — Fred and Archie arrive at home, unscathed, and as Fred goes upstairs to shower, Archie finds the back door open a crack. He investigates and a man in a black hood jumps out and attacks. They fight, and this non-Hal Black Hood pulls out a gun, at which point Fred comes downstairs and knocks the guy out with a baseball bat. As Fred and Archie embrace, the attacker pops back up and shoots! Fred blocks Archie with his body and takes ANOTHER bullet to the chest. The shooter runs, and Fred reveals that he’s wearing a bulletproof vest (courtesy of Tom Keller before the diner trip). So he’s safe! Whew! Of course, that means Archie is definitely going to run after the shooter. Unfortunately for him, the street is empty when he gets outside. So who isTHISBlack Hood??? verge cycling
