One of the things that we did was to research where we had strong supporters who lived in apartment buildings. We couldnât canvass because we didnât want to send volunteers or staff into apartment buildings during [the pandemic], so we encouraged people who lived in apartment buildings to reach out to neighbors they knew and to drop off literature in their buildings or on their floors with handwritten Post-It notes, saying, âHi, Iâm your neighbor and I believe in this candidate. I think youâll like her. Please take a look.â Many people did this, and we dropped off thousands of pieces of lit this way, so we were still able to have that kind of direct contact without actually having contact. The other thing that we did, which I think was really effective, was the fact that we ran one of the biggest postcard-writing campaigns in Los Angeles. By the end of the election, we sent about 60,000 postcards and again, many of them went to renters that we found difficult to access in other ways. That was organized by our campaign, but it was done entirely by our volunteers.TV: double shot 1 crank brothers and Eli Lilly's (the company where Azar was a senior executive) record ofdrug price fixing double shot 1 crank brothers Editor's note: This article was updated to clarify that 24,000 people voted in the 2015 city council election and 130,000 in 2020.Stay up-to-date with theTeen Voguepolitics team.Sign up for theTeen VogueTake!Want more fromTeen Vogue?
