Planning a full-on occupation is a massive undertaking, and is not something that can (or should) fall on the shoulders of one person; this is where it comes in handy to be affiliated with a particular group, or to have a decent number of like-minded friends on hand. Holding down a space — whether that’s a park, a city block, or a parking lot — takes a lot of coordination, communication, and people power, as well as basic supplies like water, non-perishable food, bedding, and seating for elders and people who aren’t able to stand for long periods of time.
