Since there are so few female leads onscreen overall, women at the center of future narratives need to be strong, and this should no longer accompany being diminished or violated by male characters. Abusive men should never be heroes. They are the villains in real life, and this should be well-established in media. That said, Disney has made huge strides when it comes to bringing strong women to the forefront of their newer narratives, but seeing repercussions for the misogynistic behavior that often accompanies stories of female empowerment is just as important. Disney's movies could become an example of how a society functions when men and women are equal.
