There are numerous ways lightning can strike people, the NWS notes, but direct strikes — which tend to happen to people in open areas where nothing else is the main recipient of the strike — are the most deadly. In this kind of lightning strike, the bolt hits the target, sending a current along the skin, which can cause burns, and through the body. The current traveling through the body, the NWS says, is the most concerning. Other types of strikes include side flashes, in which the person is not the main target of the lightning but the current jumps to them from a nearby target, and ground current, in which the current travels through the ground and to a person.Related:Teen Dies in Bath After Cell Phone Electrocution converting a bike to electric Last night, Bella quoted a tweet from Nashville-based "#CountryRapper"Will King converting a bike to electric female presenters, in an effort to promote visibility.
