We’ve been accused of holding a walkout solely to skip class. But we’re doing this to keep students in class. I’m a part of the 20-person student organizing team for the April 4 walkout, a group of teenagers from across the province who’ve put our hearts and souls into this day of action. My hopes are that students who feel their needs and the needs of their teachers are being neglected will reclaim their voices and fight for their right to a fair education as we walk out of class at 1 p.m. We’ve created signs, planned chants, and will be dressed in black in order to mourn what may be lost through these proposed changes. As it currently stands, these are only proposals, which is why it’s so important that we fight back now. spacetalk 4g I believe I speak on behalf of all of us when I say that this is just the beginning of something great among Ontario youth.
