"You're both shorter than me / and I think that you'll find / I've hooked up with hotter girls than the both of you combined." ya125408 Stanchich says that the universities are necessary because “it is our only place for critical thinking.” Without them, brain drain could worsen. ya125408 A theme that Iâve come back to in both of my books is this idea of beauty because itâs something that really fascinates me. We place so much importance on beauty for women and thereâs this real fallacy that most of us buy into that the more beautiful you are, the happier you are. We somehow correlate worthiness with beauty, I think, particularly for girls and young women. Emma is a really intelligent girl, but thanks to her parents' pride in her attractiveness and the social currency that it affords her, she places so much importance in how she looks because thatâs what sheâs been taught to do. And I think thatâs what a lot of young women have been taught to do. ya125408 I think whatâs hard for Emma is the nature of the internet. If this had happened 30 years ago, or even 20 years ago, she would have been able to move away, go to the U.K. or even the U.S. and completely rebuild her life. But once somethingâs on the internet, itâs impossible to remove it. Even when sheâs living in this tiny town in West Cork, her case becomes an international phenomenon where theyâre covering it on feminist blogs likexoJaneandJezebel ya125408
