I attended the march that took place at Minnesota’s state capital that day, led by a cohort of female politicians, including Ilhan Omar, who had just been elected to Minnesota’s state House of Representatives. I was living in Minneapolis at the time, and I covered the Minnesota march, which drew a crowd of more than 90,000 people, for Rewire.org, a local, millennial-geared PBS affiliate that’s now defunct.
