Has anyone given you really helpful advice for your career and handling the spotlight in general?RA: Minority groups already feel as if their experiences are trivialized enough, and with allies constantly overstepping, advocation gets frustrating. A white person can make the same argument as a PoC and receive more recognition for it, all because they’re making it from a position of privilege. Too often it feels as if no one hears what marginalized groups are saying unless it comes from the mouth of an ally — people hear our grievances but they don’t hear us. The unprivileged want to be heard — and not only when an ally speaks for us. Of course, eagle-eyed fans definitely knew that this collab was in the works, considering that Troye recently posted anInstagram story "I don’t look like her or sound like her so lets cut the bullsh*t at this point , let her do her thing & let me do mine ... but y’all really gotta stop playing with me at this point."
